About Me

Hi! I am a doctoral candidate at ETH Zurich, working under the supervision of Prof. Roland Riek (BioNMR Group) and Prof. Gisbert Schneider (MODLAB). Before I began my current position, I studied Interdisciplinary Sciences at ETH Zurich.

Research

My doctoral studies are focused on the dynamics of protein structures. Most proteins show some form of correlated motions, which may provide insights into their allosteric regulation. I aim to make use of the inherently dynamic nature of bio-NMR measurements with a machine learning approach in order to identify correlated motion over a wide range of protein structures.

Previously, I have worked on topics such as automated protein NMR assignment, prediction of molecular properties using deep learning and the development of open research data infrastructure (specifically the NMRprime repository for primary bio-NMR data). Other Work

Aside from my main project, I have had the chance to work as a part of various volunteer teams during my time at ETH Zurich. I was a board member of the association of chemistry students at ETH Zurich (VCS) in 2021 and 2022, during which I was responsible for the association's IT infrastructure. In 2023, I headed the organisational committee of the yearly career fair Chemtogether, which aims to build a bridge between students and industry in the fields of chemistry, chemical engineering, life sciences and pharmaceutical sciences.

I am currently the administrator of the chemconnect job board for members of the ETH domain seeking positions in chemistry and related fields. I have also been the financial auditor of the Union of the Assistants at the Chemical Labs at ETH Zurich (VAC) since the end of 2024.
